In May 2017, 65 individuals with multiple sclerosis (MS), from 15 countries will take on a week-long sailing challenge in Croatia.
The Oceans of Hope event aims to give challengers the opportunity to enjoy life at sea and rebuild confidence. As organiser Robert Munns said: “I want to tell the world that disability can be changed to ability, that people diagnosed with MS should not stop trying to improve their lives.” MS, a condition of the central nervous system, affects more than 100,000 people in the UK alone, but physical activity has been proven to alleviate the sometimes-debilitating symptoms.
Robert is already working on fundraising for a series of challenges in 2018, and is looking for volunteers to support the event.
