Yacht charter company The Moorings is partnering with the America’s Cup to offer crewed sailing in Bermuda to view the racing this summer
The tie-up will give The Moorings yachts ‘premium access’ to the designated on-water spectator zone for the racing, all of which takes place in front of the Royal Naval Dockyard, Bermuda. The racing runs from 26 May to 27 June, and will see British hopeful Land Rover BAR competing to challenge Oracle Team USA in the final.
Four- and six-cabin catamarans (Moorings 4800 or 5800) are available in Bermuda and come complete with a skipper and gourmet chef, for what is being billed as ‘the ultimate America’s Cup experience’. Costs start at £2,270 per person.
“The Moorings is proud to partner with such a prestigious and significant sporting event that draws international support from some of the most prominent brands in the world,”said Josie Tucci, general manager of The Moorings. “We are honoured to offer this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for charter guests to experience the event in such a unique and memorable way.”
Dan Barnett, chief commercial officer of the America’s Cup Event Authority added: “Interest in the 35th America’s Cup is growing significantly every day and now, with The Moorings joining us as an official charter yacht supplier, we have another fantastic way for visitors to experience Bermuda and watch the greatest race on water in May and June.”
Charterers will still need to buy tickets if they want to get involved in any of the shoreside activity around the 35th America’s Cup. Tickets are available here and range from $20 to $200 every person every day.
